Gibraltar-Genoa 2012

A site specific audio work for the view and windows to the upper floor of the Villa Croce Museum of Contemporary Art, Genoa.  A visitor could look out to the sea and listen to live radio broadcasts from Gibraltar Radio 91.3 FM  in headphones. Creating a link between two historically connected maritime cities. My own surname comes from Genoa.  Accompanied by a text of the proposal displayed by the window of the museum. The window shutters, usually closed, were requested to be opened as seen in this photograph.

Gibraltar-Genoa is part of Una vaga zona geográfica/A Vague Geographic Zone – an ongoing cycle of intimate, visual, audio works and writing which draw on images and sounds from her archive and repertoire about the Mediterranean as an irreducible intersubjective collage of memory, photographs, place, novels, films, set in the  climate and geography of a small region around Gibraltar and the Straits.
